Every time you set up a server for PHP, especially in PHP version 5.4, You would get something like this:

It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier.

PHP 5.4 will default to ‘UTC’ instead of guessing the timezone.

If you ever encounter this, a quick solution is to set your timezone on your application using date_default_timezone_set

date_default_timezone_set('Asia/Manila')

For me, that would be ‘Asia/Manila’

A long term solution so you won’t set that function on every application on your server, will be to set in on your php.ini file.

date.timezone = 'Asia/Manila'
